AI Terms & Bring-Your-Own-AI Addendum
Version 2026.10 — last updated September 24, 2026
How your bot produces answers, who is responsible for them, and the terms that apply when a custom Enterprise customer connects their own AI account.
1. How answers are produced
Your bot answers from the questions and answers you approved. Incoming questions are matched against that approved knowledge, including reworded and misspelled phrasings. When nothing matches closely enough, the assistant declines and offers to pass the question on, rather than generating an answer.
A generative model is used only as a bounded fallback, and only to phrase a reply from material you already approved. We publish our test methodology and full results openly so you can check these claims yourself.
2. Your responsibility for answers
You decide what your bot is allowed to say. You are responsible for the accuracy, legality and suitability of the answers you approve and publish, and for keeping them current. We do not review your content for accuracy and we are not responsible for decisions anyone makes based on it.
3. No professional advice
Impact AI Inc is not a medical, legal, financial or other licensed professional service. Do not configure your bot to present regulated advice as coming from a professional unless you are one and you say so clearly. Always give visitors a route to a qualified human for consequential questions.
4. We do not train on your data
Your approved answers and your visitors' messages are not used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. They are used to run your bot and to show you your own analysis and reports.
5. Bring your own AI — who it is for
Customers on the custom Enterprise plan (not the Team plan) may connect their own AI account — OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini) or any service that speaks a compatible interface, including one you host yourself — per chatbot. While a connected account is active for a bot, fallback generation for that bot runs on your account and your monthly interaction limit does not apply to it.
6. Your key and your provider
- The API key you provide remains yours. We store it for the sole purpose of answering your visitors and never display it back to you in full.
- Only your own chatbot's answer requests use your key. We do not use it for anything else, and no other customer can reach it.
- Your provider's own terms, usage policies, model availability and prices apply to you directly. You pay them, not us.
- You confirm you are permitted to use that key for this purpose under your agreement with the provider.
- You can disconnect at any time, and we delete the stored key. Fallback then returns to our default gateway.
We are not responsible for your provider's output, rate limits, outages, cost or policy changes. If your provider fails, your bot returns its standard "I don't have that information" reply rather than guessing, and we record the error for you to see.
7. What is sent to a connected provider
When a connected account is used, we send the visitor's question and the approved material needed to answer it. Treat your provider as one of your own sub-processors for that traffic and review their terms accordingly. Our Sub-processor List records the default gateway we use when you have not connected your own account.
